SAFETY HARBOR SPRINTS 5KM                           May 14, 2005
Safety Harbor, Florida

Mary Ann won the women's race and Jim was second overall!
This year, two other area races drew potential runners from this established event. Construction across the street from the marina caused the nice downhill street included on the certified course to be blocked off. The revised course up and back on Main Street was reported to be carefully measured and thought to be accurate by most participants.
89 yr old Ray Hoover was honored as the oldest participant, finishing in 1:03:15 and was fourth in the 70+ age group.
77 male, 69 females turned in finish cards.

ALS LIFE SAVING RUN 3.28 MI                               May 14, 2005
Al Lopez Park      Tampa, Florida

No real results published. There was a try on Brandon runners website, but it gave no times and was full of inaccuracies and omissions – such as missing age groups and more importantly our gal Karen's very first overall win!
We do know that the course was a bit long. We also know that Karen won and would have PR'd at the pace per mile that she clocked!

HOUND DOG DASH 5KM                                           May 21, 2005
Downtown Tampa, Florida

This race starts off the Elvis weekend celebration. Another certified race course that was altered and therefor not certified. The Award structure increased from top three Male/Female Overall last year to include ten year age groups. We heard that the age group winners even got a smaller version of the cute spotted hound dog toy that the Overall winners received.
23 male, 21 female finishers.

BAYSHORE MARATHON                                           May 28, 2005
Traverse City, Michigan

Mary Ann travelled to see if she could get to a start line feeling great - reaping the reward from her Boston training. It was not to be this time as she got a nasty case of bronchitis shortly before getting on the plane. Despite her illness, she still placed sixth -right behind the first Masters woman.
Tony, who does this event most every year took over four minutes off of his previous PR!

CLEARWATER BEACH PATROL OCEAN 1 MILE SWIM
Clearwater Bch, Florida                                               May 28, 2005

We are publishing the results to this non running event because 'tis the season to try to beat the heat. Also, Dan placed in his age group!
Interestingly, both men's and women's winners swam the same time. Caitlin Warner of Palm Harbor is about the right age to be long ago members Tom and Janine Warner's daughter.
