4TH ANNUAL GULF BEACHES 1/2 MARATHON
Madeira Beach, Florida                                      December 11, 2005

Cool, dew point weather made for less than ideal conditions for running. Even so, Forerunners Masters women were 1-2-4-5-12.
Christy and Mary Ann ran together and ended up as the fourth and sixth runners to cross the finish line. Kris edged out Karen after they went back and forth the entire race. Both ended up with new PRs! Alan , Mark, Anna and Beth also bettered theirs. The most dramatic time improvement belongs to Jim McDannel - cutting 24:18 from his Max Bayne time last February. Marcia lopped 17:55 from her all time best! Jim is preparing for the Goofy Challenge and Marcia, the Miami Marathon.
Coach Joe (67)continues to pop off age graded times above 90 percent ... was third Master (age 40) while Jon Kieffer (62) was third Grand Master (age 50). How about that? Proof once more that training really works!
There were 235 male and 262 female finishers.

REINDEER RUN 5KM                                         December 17, 2005
St Pete Times Forum       Tampa, Florida

No PRs but still a good day for all who ran on this windy, nasty rainy day. Mary Ann, Jeanne and Kris were 1-3-4 and Maria squeezed in the top 20 ... Kris and Maria approached their PRs. Chuck's wife Pam took her turn accompanying their race loving child Hunter while Chuck is on injured reserve. Shannon reentered the race scene here and is eager to see improvement in race times and her commitment to running.
265 male and 264 female finishers.

JACKSONVILLE MARATHON                       December 18, 2005

Great results! No PRs in the full marathon, but Forerunners, who ran, met their Boston qualifying standard. Most notably was Emery who just turned 80 and needed sub 5 hours. Don, true to his word, stayed in the room when he awoke to the cold rainy day!
David ran the half and got yet another PR.
