26TH ANNUAL RATTLESNAKE 5 MILE          October 16, 2004
San Antonio, Florida

When a farmer banished use of his orange grove the day before, race directors were forced to scurry to invent an alternate course in the final hours before this rural event. Some cussing was reported from runners who had trouble reading and following the revised course markings. None of our Forerunners were involved in the cussing though, so no team uniforms were confiscated. Mike Jensen managed to turn his ankle twice, and that was before the race.
154 males and 95 females finished the hilly, part cross-country course.

25TH ANNUAL COLUMBUS MARATHON
Civic Center      Columbus, Ohio                          October 17, 2004

Running cautiously in 15 to 20mph winds, David finally unleashed to 6:52 pace for the last 10km on this loop course over the hills surrounding downtown Columbus, Capitol of the Buckeye State. Knocking six minutes off his PR, David next has his sights on Patriots Day in Massachusetts, perhaps better known as Boston Marathon day.

TORONTO INTERNATIONAL MARATHON & HALF
Toronto       Ontario, Canada                                 October 17, 2004

Tony ran a strong Boston qualifying marathon on this wet, windy and cold day in metropolitan Toronto. Unprepared for the conditions, runners were treated in droves for hypothermia.
Ken led the Kestys to the finish line. As far as we know the accompanying half is the longest race for both girls, an automatic PR! Kendra is on a sculling team at school - must be very fit and doing some regular running.
