FLORIDA HOSPITAL FIRECRACKER 10KM & 5KM
Daytona Beach, Florida                                                   July 2, 2006

James and Londa traveled to the traditional Daytona Beach pre 4th of July celebration race and post 35th birthday celebration for James in the wee hours of race morning and got lotsa sunrise photos.
The race officials, following current trends, offered a special award to those who signed up for and ran both the races. Not quite the 10 miles in total race distance that this classic beach event once held every 4th of July.
Back to our newlyweds story .. they headed south to see if the space shuttle was on for that day. As luck would have it, that event did take place on the 4th of July in the early afternoon ... long after James ran even faster at the Midnight Run 10KM.

Honeymoon Island Causeway       Dunedin, Florida

A visitor from Mocksville, North Carolina won overall male.
The team earned five first place awards in all three events.
Christine and Marcia ran this event for the first time this year and really enjoyed themselves. Said they'd do it again next year.
Ali was second overall in the 5Km but was some how missed in all published results except for ours where we placed her as first in her 15 – 16 age category. Blake was included with the 18 – 19 age group even though he just had his 17th birthday. The official results include only the top five in each age group. If you were among those not listed and want to be in our results, please let us know your time and we'll get our results updated with your information.
There were 208 male and 100 female finishers in the 10Km.
There were 755 finish cards distributed in the 5Km ... 398 in the men's chute and 357 in the women's chute.
Kyle was 5th in the mile. Only the top 20male and female finishers were listed in the official results.
