FORERUNNERS JULY 2003 RACE RESULTS

24TH ANNUAL MIDNIGHT RUN 10KM                     July 4, 2003
Honeymoon Island Causeway       Dunedin, Florida

As one can see from the overall winners, this race is a venue for the youngsters. Hard to figure out what the draw is here in the middle of the night, with awards distributed at 2:30am. Perhaps it's a quixotic thing to do, running your heart out in the dark to the turnaround on Honeymoon Island and back. 537 finished the 10km, 592 more in the in the 3km, which starts two minutes after the main event.

17TH ANNUAL INDEPENDENCE DAY 5KM             July 4, 2003
Civic Center Park       Lutz, Florida

Lutz is 20 miles and 40 years from downtown Tampa. To celebrate the 4th the Lutzites build homemade floats for the parade, shine up the fire trucks, weave red, white and blue crepe paper in their bike spokes, and roast a pig in the city park. They also have this nice 5km event. Mary Ann won her fifth race in a row.
248 finished.
